Tallah Dance Academy

Tamara and Charlotte set up Tallah Dance Academy in 2018 to offer industry training for the young people of Mansfield.

Our vision for the Academy is to be original and unique and prepare students for the versatile dance world.

Tallah strives to celebrate all students and abilities and offer young people new and vibrant opportunities that fuse dance, music, modelling, art, make-up, professional encounters, shows and a bespoke experience for each child.

Meet The Principals of the Academy

Megan

Megan started her journey with dance at the age of 4 at a dance school in Derbyshire. In her early childhood Megan competed at many dance festivals and won several awards and she quickly knew that dance was going to be her forever career. At age 10 she successfully gained a place at Tring Park School for Performing Arts where she was a boarding student until the age of 19. Whilst at Tring Park Megan worked with many amazing teachers and choreographers such as Anthony Van Laast CBE and Matthew Bourne’s ‘New Adventures’ Company. She also performed in over 60 shows with the English National Ballet in their productions of ‘The Nutcracker’ & ‘Swan Lake’ in The Royal Albert Hall and The London Coliseum.
Since graduating Megan has been working as a professional dancer onboard several different cruise lines. A highlight of Megan’s performance int career was being part of Norwegian Cruise Lines cast of ‘Swing! The Broadway musical’ where she worked with the original Broadway choreographer Lynne Taylor Corbette. She has travelled to each corner of the world and now she is here at Tallah to pass on her experience to the next generation of performers!

Teacher’s

Jessica Darwood- Brown

Hi ! I am Jessica Darwood-Brown, and I’m a 23-year-old professional dancer from Nottinghamshire. Dancing has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I trained at Addict Dance Academy, where I earned a First Class Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance. During my studies, I was also part of JME Dance Company and took part in the Phase Training Program.

One of my proudest achievements was heading to Mexico for a year after graduation, where I danced professionally in Riviera Maya, performing in 14 shows as a resident dancer in a resort. I’ve also had the honour of performing at the London Lifestyle Awards and working as a backing dancer in the movie ‘Better Man’.

I’m incredibly excited to share my passion with the next generation of dancer, and help them discover their love for dance through teaching.
